ALICE DRILL INFORMATION

ALICE DRILL 

Today, we practiced an ALICE drill. The premise of the drill was an “unwanted intruder” outside of the building, not an active shooter. Our goal, which was accomplished, was to reinforce a lockdown and/or an evacuation, depending on the location of the students and staff. This is different from a fire drill/evacuation. We will have other drills throughout the year. The purpose of ALICE is to replace fear and hopelessness during emergencies with preparation and readiness in the face of adverse circumstances.

Please know that there is no information suggesting that any of the schools or children are at risk. We are doing responsible planning by participating in drills to keep students and staff safe.
